Division Overview:
Economic Development was implemented in 1999 to enhance, retain and attract new businesses to the city. Services include facade improvements, special events and business support activities in the district. Facade improvements are designed to improve the aesthetics of the district's businesses through specific pre-approved standards, which apply to all exterior improvements to existing properties in the district.

Special Events was developed to enhance the district's image as a positive place for businesses, increase awareness and use of the district by visitors and residents, foster public/private cooperation in the effort to revitalize the district and enhance its perception of safety.

Economic Development also supports businesses and community organizations in the district by assisting with special promotions and grand openings, provides pertinent information through the weekly "Monday Morning Memo" and ACSID's newsletter "Soundwaves", management of the ACSID website, production and distribution of promotional literature and special event invitations.
